Want to earn extra money on Saturday and Sunday? See real weekend part time work you can do near you, what it pays, how to find your first task and how to avoid fake job offers.

If you have a free Saturday or Sunday, you can turn it into extra income without quitting your job or paying to join anything. For most people, weekend part time work adds a few thousand rupees a month, not a full salary.
This guide covers real offline work you can do near you, what it pays, how to find your first task and how to avoid fake job offers.
How much can you earn on weekends in India?
Redseer's India's Gig Workers Report 2026 puts average gig earnings at about ₹138 an hour across delivery, ride-hailing and home services. Using that average:
When you work | Hours in a month | Approx. earnings |
|---|---|---|
Sundays only (5 hours) | 20 | ₹2,760 |
Saturday and Sunday (5 hours each) | 40 | ₹5,520 |
Students earn in a similar range. One student gig platform's report found the most common earnings were ₹6,000–₹15,000 a month, with an average payout of about ₹8,000.
These are averages, not promises. Your income depends on your city, your skills and how much work you find.

Estimated rates for an 8-hour day, based on InfraLens labour price data, October 2026. Actual pay varies by area, experience and job, so check locally before you make an offer.
Surat figures are indicative rates for an 8-hour day from InfraLens, October 2026.
For a short job, don't just divide the daily rate by 8. You still have to travel there and may lose the chance of other work that day, so it's fair to ask for a minimum amount.
How to find part time work near you
Pick one or two kinds of work. "I clean homes and help with moving" is easier to trust than "I can do anything".
Look close to home. Less travel means you keep more of what you earn.
Ask questions before you agree. Check the hours, the tools, the floor and whether there's a lift.
Agree the price first. Settle the amount, and how and when you'll be paid, before you start.
Do small jobs well. Good reviews make the next job easier to get.

If they accept your offer, do the task and get paid directly by the tasker.

To be clear about what we do: DoForMoney only connects people. We don't employ workers, guarantee work, handle payments or run ID checks. The number of tasks also depends on how many people near you use the site, so some cities have only a few right now.

How to avoid fake weekend job offers
Many "easy part time job" offers are scams, so be careful with any job that comes from a stranger on WhatsApp or Telegram. If anyone asks you to pay to get work, walk away.

Frequently asked questions
Are there part time jobs for only Saturday and Sunday?
Yes. Cleaning, moving, events, errands and tutoring often happen on weekends. One-off local tasks suit this well because you choose which ones to offer on.
Can I do weekend jobs with no experience?
Yes. Cleaning, moving, errands and event work usually need more effort than training. Start with small jobs and build up your reviews.
Are there weekend jobs for students?
Yes. Event work, tutoring, delivery and office tasks can all suit students. Check that the hours fit around your classes.
Can I earn a side income alongside my job?
Yes, if the work fits your free time. Check whether your employment contract limits outside work, and treat weekend income as extra rather than a replacement for your salary.
Do weekend jobs pay daily?
Some do, but you need to agree it first. On DoForMoney, the tasker pays you directly, so settle how and when before you start. Be careful with "daily payment" ads that ask for a fee.
Do I need to pay to start?
No genuine job should charge you for the chance to work. On DoForMoney, signing up and making offers are free.
